La Union was carved from the nine towns of Pangasinan, three of Ilocos Sur and villages of the Eastern Pais del Igorotes in the Cordilleras. It was formally created by a Royal Decree issued by Queen Isabela of Spain on April 18, 1854. The name La Union indicates the union of towns from different provinces.
Spanish colonizers saw a thriving community when they arrived in La Union in 1572. The area was then a dynamic trading center especially for gold for Japanese and Chinese merchants.
Presently, La Union is still "young" when compared to older provinces such as Pangasinan, Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, Pampanga, Cebu and Cavite. It is a class - A, progressive and developing province. Its 155 years of existence since 1850 testifies to reality of the original vision -- a province geared towards peace, prosperity, growth and development. The original "dozen" towns have grown to 19 municipalities and a city.
The network of modern infrastructure has contributed to the present progressive condition in agriculture, commerce and industry. In the late 1990's, the national leadership declared La Union as one of the archipelago's 12 regional industrial centers.
Since the advent of martial law in 1972, La Union has all the more progressed markedly. In commerce, merchants visit and trade from neighboring provinces. Every town has a "tienda" day. Aside from rice and tobacco, the inhabitants grow cotton, silk coconuts, cacao, mangoes and vegetables. The prime commercial and savings banks have their branches in San Fernando.

Just a Quote to Share
![]()
Hey guys! Check this love quote! "There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved." -George Sands , this is very familiar for most of us, right? we often hear this for like millions of times, and I really like this because of its shortness and simpleness, yet this quote tells a very essential fact in our human lives that everybody experienced, is experiencing, and will be experiencing.
Truly, love is a very strong emotion of affection we feel to others and they feel towards us.
Love can be done in different ways, and as the song goes, "love moves in mysterious ways" which indeed is correct. We can do it verbally, in action, or we can also have it both which is actually the best way to show our love for others.
The simple saying above is telling us that loving is an ability we can do that will turn out to be our happiness as well as others' happiness.
Just a Quote to share to you!

Think GREEN!

Green is a restful color because of its calming attributes, and as they say, time moves faster in a green room. It is considered one of the additive primary colors.I Just can't turn away my eyes from the color of green as I pass by the road since green is dominant in the environment. Green is my favorite color, I'm really obsess with this.
Green can be associated with many different things, events, and the like. Green really is the color of almost everything, perhaps the second dominant color on earth if not the most dominant.
Green is the color of LIFE. Abundant in nature, green signifies growth, renewal, health, and environment. In many folklores and literatures, green has traditionally been used to symbolize nature and its embodied attributes, namely those of life, fertility, and rebirth. Green was symbolic of resurrection and immortality in Ancient Egypt; the god Osiris was depicted as green-skinned.
Green is the color of LOVE. Not only red, but even green! Good to know right? It deals with higher consciousness and love.
Green is the color of prosperity. In areas that use the U.S. Dollar as currency, green carries a connotation of money, wealth, and capitalism, because green is the color of United States banknotes, giving rise to the slang term greenback for cash.

Green is the color of safety. It can communicate safety to proceed, as in traffic lights.
Green is the color of nature, fertility, life. Grass green is the most restful color. Green symbolizes self-respect and well being. Green is the color of balance. It also means learning, growth and harmony. Green is a safe color, if you don't know what color to use anywhere use green.
Green is favored by well balanced people. Green symbolizes the master healer and the life force. It often symbolizes money. It was believed green was healing for the eyes. Egyptians wore green eyeliner. Green eyeshades are still used. You should eat raw green foods for good health. Friday is the day of green. Green jade is a sacred stone of Asia.
Green contains the powerful energies of nature, growth, desire to expand or increase. Balance and a sense of order are found in the color green. Change and transformation is necessary for growth, and so this ability to sustain changes is also a part of the energy of green.
Green gemstones are used to attract money, prosperity and wealth. They are balancing stones that promote growth and fertility. Carry, wear or place green gemstones around your home or office to promote balance, change and growth.
Green says growth - balance - harmony. It is a color of healthy relationships.

So, wear GREEN! Go Green! Think GREEN!

Somebody to Care About my Feelings

Such a wonderful feeling, to have somebody or someone to feel everything that anyone feels. To have a friend, or friends to be with, and friends to live life with.
Angelica, Micah, Patricia, Princess, Mauline, and Roma, they are my friends, my friends whom I call Behens. Why Behen? Behen means sister in India, we learned that in our Arts Subject when we are in the second year, with Mr. Abat. With them, I can always be the real me, and I don't need to hide the negative things about me. My friends who understand and accept my everything, even the worst thing I have inside me. With them, I am free to feel everything. Somebody who would listen, and somebody to talk with. They are my friends, who comforts me in my darkest moments, ready to listen when I have burden inside me, ready to lend a helping hand when I'm in grief, ready to tell words when I need pieces of advice, ready to lift me up when I fell on my feet. Aside from that, they are always ready to crack jokes with me, to laugh crazily, to smile sweetly, to chat loudly, to dance wildly, to ambush foods quickly, to sing songs happily, to share secrets privately, to reveal our feelings anytime, my friends whom I can tell and reveal everything, even the most embarrassing secrets keep inside me. They are my friends, and I am only me, when I am with them!
Such a wonderful feeling to have friends ready to care about what I feel. They make my days so much better and brighter. Memories I spent with them will surely be remembered and brought to mind....
